Description
Climate: Mediterranean, dry and hot summers, mild winters.
About the winery: The Matuško family has a rich tradition in viticulture. In 1997 they first started producing wine for the market in a small winery in Potomje. This required a serious approach to grape and wine production as traditional values and principles had to be preserved. Thanks to family tradition, but also to family upbringing, this was the beginning of the dizzying rise of Matuško wine. Combining family culture with personality, especially charm and playfulness, they have been able to put a unique stamp on the wines, which the market has recognized over the years. Every year, this winery attracts thousands of tourists who come to visit the impressive wine cellars.
Location: The winery is located in Potomje, South Dalmatia. The grapes for this wine are sourced from the wider area in Dalmatia. This region has a backdrop of rugged mountains that mainly consist of dolomite and limestone.
Vinification: The grapes for this wine come from the Postup appellation. After fermentation of 8 to 10 days, this wine is aged for 2 years in stainless steel tanks.
