About the winery: The story of the relationship between the Josić and Zmajevac families began in 1999, when they bought an old wine cellar from 1935 in Planina district, and about 1.6 hectares of old vine plantations. They rebuilt the basement, restored it and equipped it with modern technology, trying to preserve its traditional appearance. Today, there is a famous and successful restaurant, winery and wine tasting room in that place. Guests from all over Croatia and neighboring countries discover this enogastronomic paradise blended into a beautiful natural environment. The winery produces a wide range of premium red and white wines. Josić wines have been crowned with numerous gold medals for quality, as well as awards for design and an original approach to furnishing wine bottles. The wine cellar was built way back in 1935 and today represents an ideal combination of traditional ambience and modern technology. The temperature in them, at any time of the year, is an ideal 12 to 15 degrees Celsius for wine.

Location: Josić wines are made from authentic Baranja varieties that mature in ancient vineyards on Banova kosa. Ban's hair was called the Golden Hill by the ancient Romans, after the "golden drop", a natural nectar that was made from the fruits grown on its slopes.

Vinification: The most common white variety in the region of continental Croatia. In most wineries, Graševina takes up a large percentage of the total volume of wine produced. It is a very favorable variety due to its ability to produce different wine styles, from light fresh wines for quick consumption to high predicates such as in ice wines. The wine was produced under reductive processing conditions and aged in closed stainless steel barrels. The reducing conditions in wine processing and storage have helped preserve floral aromas such as chamomile.

Pairing

Good in combination with light chicken dishes.
